HEE'S BACK + GETS AN AWARD FOR EXEMPLARY PUBLIC SERVICE OFFICER

10:09 pm - 08/29/2013

After what feels like an eternity, Heechul (30) has officially been discharged with the completion of his service!

Since he wanted a quiet discharge, Heechul did not plan any sort of event and thus, did not offer any words or speech. However, to express is gratitude for the 150+ fans and reporters that had gathered anyways, Heechul stepped outside briefly to smile and wave.

The idol enlisted back in September 2011 as a public service officer and was awarded for being an exemplary officer upon his discharge. The future ahead of him also seems bright as he is already said to be receiving love calls left and right.

Welcome back, Heechul!

On August 29, it was revealed that Super Junior's Kim Heechul (30) will receive an award acknowledging him as an exemplary public service officer while serving at Sungdong.

A rep revealed via a phone interview with media outlet Star News, "Kim Hee Chul is expected to be discharged from the army on August 30 but he will be honored with an award before he is formally discharged."

Kim Hee Chul enlisted back on September 1, 2011, and has since served as a public service officer at Sungdong. In 2006 Kim Hee Chul was involved in a serious accident that required him to undergo a major surgery, which resulted in him becoming a public service officer rather than an active duty soldier.

As previously requested, Kim Hee Chul plans to be quietly discharged from the army without any public ceremony.

Kim Hee Chul who is known to posses a variety of skills in singing, acting, and more has already been receiving numerous love calls from variety shows, dramas, but there is no confirmation of his official return.

His reps previously commented, "After his discharge, Kim Hee Chul is planning to practice as much as he can, and once he is ready he will join the rest of the members for Super Junior's World Tour. But we cannot say for certain when that will be."
