131014 Kangin talks about Heechul’s joining SJ on stage: Super Junior is currently doing our concert around the world through our world tour. We’re also preparing for our album that will come out in Japan. It’s not yet fixed but I think (Kim Heechul) will join us on stage in the near future. In our team, the other members are jealous since there is already two people who has served the army, kim heechul and me. Soon, Leeteuk and Yesung will also come out so the members who has already served the army will increase.

SHINee will be releasing their 5th mini album, entitled "Everybody". The contemporary group started their promotions for the new release on M Countdown, showcasing performances of the title track, "Everybody", and accompanying R&B mid-tempo ballad, "Symptoms".


The title track "Everybody" is a tune that anyone can hum along to. The song blends easy melodies and funky rhythms, and can be classified under the "complextro" genre. The lyrics for "Symptoms" were penned by Jonghyun and produced by The Underdogs. The track was revealed through a lyric video and has won many hearts over with its strong beats and vocal harmonization.

The new mini album will contain a total of 7 new tracks recorded over the past year, and will be available both online and offline on October 14th.

On October 11, the Ministry of Science, ICT And Future Planning announced a new law that will see old style wireless home phones being banned starting from January 2014 with fines for continued usage of approximately USD$1866. The news has caused some concern amongst the public and SHINee’s Jonghyun also lashed out at the new law on his Twitter account.

Following the announcement, SHINee’s Jonghyun went on his Twitter to express his anger towards the new law. He starts off by saying “They say you can’t use wireless phones starting from January next year. They say even picking up a call with a phone will result in a $1866 fine. I’m flabbergasted. They say that this is an issue because it clashes with the LTE Spectrum or so they say. They say that there are still 100,000 people that use these phones. I hope no one gets fined because they were unaware of this.”

SHINee’s Jonghyun however becomes a bit more heated in his next tweet where he begins to state “What is this…Is this a law that doesn’t think about the people and just thinks about the companies… I’ll inform people about this law that comes into effect in 2 months time… Amongst the people I know, I was the only one that knew about this. If the law is being changed then isn’t it customary to let all the users know.”

He continues on in his next tweet, “I was talking about wireless phones used at home~! Hmm… looks like we have to be careful about riding bikes as well, the bike-only roads might suddenly become illegal to use one day and I could end up getting fined without knowing!”

SHINee’s Jonghyun continued to express his displeasure, “If people that didn’t know about this used their wireless phones next January… You’ll be seeing losses as great as if you fell for a new type of voice phishing scam. $1866! I’m expressing myself a bit aggressively in the hopes that lots of people talk about my tweets and find out about this. Please understand ^^.”

The new law will see the use of older style wireless home phones using the 900Mhz radio spectrum banned due to the spectrum potentially causing interference with KT’s 900MHz LTE-A radio spectrum. This new law will primarily affect users using wireless phones produced before 2006 with more recent phones running on the 2.4GHz and 1.7GHz spectrum being unaffected by the change.

2013 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) to Take Over Hong Kong in November

With award season fast approaching, CJ E&M has confirmed that this year’s highly-anticipated Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) will take place in Hong Kong on November 22.

The annual music festival, which is in its fifth year and gathers the world’s hottest acts in music, will return to Hong Kong this year and take over the AsiaWorld-Expo, which has seen stars like Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Jason Mraz grace its stage. 

“Now in its fifth year since being transformed into Asia’s premier music festival, MAMA’s impact has spread far beyond its origins in Korea to across Asia and other parts of the world,” said Han Dong Chul, General Manager of CJ E&M’s music channel Mnet. “Fans and artists alike have been waiting a year for this show, and in November will get a performance only dreamt about until now, bringing together all the top-class creativity and fifteen year production know-how of Mnet.” 

Han added, “As Asia’s greatest music festival, Hong Kong is also the ideal venue for MAMA given the city’s critical location as a geographical and cultural international hub.”

The 2012 MAMA was previously held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. MAMA has gone through a few name changes in its history, but anticipation is growing for the event that has come a long way to become a mainstay in K-Pop music.
